BWY Foundation Course Level 1 with Katrina Heather and Sue Gallagher
Starting Saturday 11 April 2015

This inspiring 60 hour course offers the opportunity to deepen your understanding and experience of yoga. It is a journey of personal development and self-enquiry using the tools of yoga. In addition to learning more about the philosophy and application of yoga, it will give you the confidence to develop a regular home practice. It is also a stepping stone for those wishing to undertake teacher training. 

With a real passion for these ancient teachings and our own experience of their transformative powers, we offer a highly interactive, inspiring exploration of yoga and how you can incorporate it into your life. - 
Requirements
  • Interested students need to have practised Yoga for at least two
    consecutive years.
  • You are required to be a member of the BWY. Membership fees are currently £30, please contact the British Wheel directly on 01529 306 851 or email [email protected] or join online at www.bwy.org.uk.
  • Please email me to register an interest in the Foundation Course and I will send you a syllabus and an application form.
  • You will be invited to attend our 'open morning' which will provide the opportunity for us to meet each other and for you to learn a little more about the course and how it will be run. This course is an investment of your time, commitment and money, so it is important that you feel comfortable with your choice.

Costs and payment details:
  • BWY membership for 1 year £30 - this needs to be paid directly to the BWY
  • BWY Course registration fee £60 (covers administration and certification costs)
  • Tutor fees £600
  • A non refundable deposit of £200 is payable on acceptance, together with the £60 for the BWY registration fee
  • The balance of the course fees (£400) can either be paid in full at the start of the course or spread out over 8 months at £50 per month. Full payment must be paid by 5th December 2015. Payment can be by cheque to 'Katrina Heather' or bank transfer (details on request).
NB you are only guaranteed your place once payment is received

Terms of Payment

There is an initial deposit of £200. Please note that this deposit is not refundable under any circumstances. If you pay for a course and are unable to take part, or are unable to complete the course, for whatever reason, the fees are non-refundable. 

Application Process
  • Please contact Katrina and she will send you an application form and syllabus for you to read
  • You will then need to return as requested, the completed 
    teacher reference form and signed application form. (If we are currently your teachers we will complete the forms)

  • Concentration and meditation techniques
  • Mudras and kriya
  • Chanting

Yoga philosophy and Discussion
  • Brief history on the origins of yoga
  • Different paths of yoga
  • The eight limbs as outlined in Patangali's Yoga sutra Chapter 2
